Bathrobe Size Guide: How to Choose the Right Dressing Gown Size

The easiest way to choose a bathrobe size is to compare our garment measurements with a robe or dressing gown you already own. Lay yours flat, measure across the chest and from the shoulder to the hem, then pick the Cick size that is closest. If you are between sizes, or like a roomy wrap, go for the larger one.

Cick bathrobe measurements

Our unisex shawl collar towelling dressing gown comes in two sizes. These are measurements of the robe itself, taken laid flat, in centimetres.

SizeChest (flat, armpit to armpit)ShoulderSleeve lengthRobe length
Small/Medium60 cm56 cm53 cm119 cm
Large/XL64 cm58 cm56 cm124 cm

The chest figure is across the front of the robe only. Double it to get the full width around the robe, which is 120 cm for Small/Medium and 128 cm for Large/XL.

How to measure a robe you already own

  1. Lay the robe flat on a bed or table and close it as you would wear it.
  2. Measure straight across the chest, from armpit seam to armpit seam.
  3. Measure the length from the top of the shoulder, next to the collar, down to the hem.
  4. Measure one sleeve from the shoulder seam to the cuff.

Compare those numbers with the table above. A difference of 2 cm or less will hardly be noticeable in a loose towelling robe.

Which size suits you

  • You like a fitted look: choose the size whose chest measurement matches your own robe.
  • You like an oversized, wrap-around feel: size up. Some customers choose the larger size for a cosier fit.
  • You are petite: Small/Medium is usually the better choice, as the sleeves and length are shorter. Some shorter customers find the sleeves a little long, and you can simply fold the cuffs back.
  • You are tall or broad-shouldered: choose Large/XL for the extra length and shoulder room.

Some Amazon customers have told us the robe comes up slightly small for its size, so if you are unsure, the larger size is the safer choice.

Buying for someone else

If you are buying a robe as a present, check the size of a jumper or dressing gown they already wear, or choose the larger size. A bathrobe that is a little roomy is far more comfortable than one that is tight. Our dressing gown gift guide has more tips.

Frequently asked questions

Is the robe unisex?

Yes. The same shawl collar cut is designed for men and women, so choose by measurements rather than by gender.

Does the robe shrink?

Cotton towelling can tighten slightly in a very hot wash or on high tumble dry heat. Washing warm and drying on low keeps the size consistent. See how to wash a towelling bathrobe.

Which size do most people choose?

It depends on build and preference. If you like a generous wrap, go up a size.
